Walt Disney World, Florida - 1973

The Project
As a member of a Disney drafting team, did working drawings for Space Mountain launch bay.
Also ran long-hand calculations for the whole track to determine clearances from rocket cars to structural elements if passengers reached out with straight arms in any direction.
After a week of intense calculations, someone walked in with computer-generated calcs for the same clearances.

Model of launch area, Space Mountain, Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida, USA, 1973.
"This was one of the areas for which I was assigned to help do working drawings."
Model by Wed Enterprises model shop.
"While working on the working drawings for this launch area, I was playing with a design detail of placing a huge "dog" bowl on a chain next to the control room.
Whether this humorous concept was ever implemented or not, I do not know."
